If We Were Having Coffee… 12/10/16

I am ecstatic that we were able to find time to get together on this busy Saturday just 15 days from Christmas. With so much activity it is nice to just slow down and sit and have a chat over coffee.

We finally got our Christmas tree up today and it is beautiful. It has helped to put me in the Christmas spirit. Our younger cat, Charlie, loves the tree and keeps climbing it. She can get to the top, batting ornaments and chewing pine cones all the way. Every time I walk in the room, several ornaments are laying on the floor, victims of her playfulness. Luckily we have carpeting so they don’t break.

I also got out and fought the crowds and did some Christmas shopping today. I made good progress on my list and I should finish tomorrow. In the middle of the hustle and bustle, a woman – a complete stranger – asked me and my mom for help with an idea for her boyfriend’s gift. She explained that she is getting him Chiefs tickets and she wanted to put them in a box and make the inside of the box like a football field. She just needed some encouragement that she had a good idea, she was so nice but was doubting herself. We talked to her for several minutes and gave her some tips. The crowded stores are often filled with rudeness so it was inspiring to have a positive interaction with someone on a personal level.

Last weekend I got a new phone! I have a Samsung Galaxy s7. I gave my old Galaxy s5 to my daughter. I love the s7! I always forget how amazing the battery life is in new phones. A fully charged battery can last close to two days. I am enjoying the new, updated system. I still need to get it synced to the bluetooth in my car.

Catch me up on your week. What would you tell me if we were having coffee?

  1. I just love that you had such a great interaction in a store on a Christmas shopping weekend. It makes me sad that when we’re shopping for CHIRSTMAS that people can get so hurried that they forget to be kind, so it’s nice to hear of a pleasant conversation that isn’t rushed. I hope her boyfriend loves his gift- it sounds like she had a really cute idea for wrapping it!

Ahh the Christmas tree. We need to get one. Maybe today lol. How funny that Charlie keeps climbing the tree- funny, spunky little cat!

Yay for a new phone- they’re always so nice when they’re new.

    1. I hope he loves it too! I don’t even know them but I’d love to be a fly on the wall when he opens it. She had a really creative ideas. Hope you get your Christmas tree up. I hope ours stays up. Lol.

  2. Yep, some people are extra rude this time of year it seems. I love when something nice happens in the midst of it all. Have a great week! Keep enjoying the season!

  3. Kudos for braving through the crowd in the Christmas bustle. Me and my mom are still taking it easy as the crowds get mad each day. Lol. We’ve managed to put up the tree and some decorations and I’ve had a few friends visit and stay over the week which was a refreshing break from the holidays. I always enjoy exploring my new phones and gadgets. Have a great week.

  4. Sometimes we have such amazing conversations with strangers! It’s truly uplifting and leave a smile in your heart.
Congratulations for your new phone. S7 is really cool!
Have a great week ahead! Cheers 🙂

  5. I need a new phone. My service provider actually called me and begged me to ditch my iPhone 4s and get something newer. He said it was an Antique and Obsolete! :o) I told him I was too so the phone and I were just meant to be. I do want a Samsung though.

  6. Thank you so much for the coffee! 🙂 I used to love watching our cats when they were kittens play with the Christmas tree. It’s nice to hear stories of kindness since there does seem to be so much rudeness out and about lately.

    1. It is so fun to watch kittens! Ours is a great climber apparently 🙂 There does seem to be so much rudeness especially as the stores get more and more crowded. I am always pleasantly surprised when I have interactions with kind and considerate people.
