I have always loved to write. I remember taking my first creative writing class in high school and falling in love. I blossomed in that class. I had a very supportive teacher who encouraged me to be a writer. I also loved the sciences. I eventually went to college and studied biology and psychology, earning a bachelor’s degree in each. I also earned a master’s degree in genetics. All along the way, I continued to write poetry and short stories.

After graduating, life hit me full force. I began working full-time in the medical field. I got married. I had two daughters. And as all parents know, children take over your life. I love them dearly, of course. My daughters are my heart, my love for them is epic and unwavering. But to say that they are time-consuming is an understatement.

I have been at a crossroads lately, both personally and professionally. I have questioned my purpose and my path. I have decided to (try to) focus on myself a little. Writing is part of that focus. My dream has always been to be a published author. I know I can’t achieve that overnight. I may not achieve it in my lifetime. My goal is really just to do what I like, to do what makes me happy. So I write. The rest will fall into place.
